Mayu Wakisaka Performing at SXSW and Releasing a Full Album

Mayu Wakisaka, a singer-songwriter known for her preloaded songs in Sony Walkman has announced she will be performing at SXSW in March 2014.

SXSW, an annual film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences held in Austin, Texas, United States, starting on March 6th this year. Japan Nite Tour is an annual post-SXSW tour by performers at Japan Nite at SXSW.

Since her career started in Los Angeles, USA, it may be a kind of home-coming performance for her. “I’m so excited about SXSW. My performance, of course. But since there are also so many other acts that I want to check out, I’ll be totally soaked in music for about a week!” says, Mayu.

After her successful first show in Korea, Mayu is all ready to expand her career to overseas.

Mayu’s SXSW appearance will be at Japan Nite, an annual SXSW showcase featuring Japanese upcoming artists, held at Elysium on March 14th (Fri) 2014.

Also, prior to SXSW, her new full album “Halfway to You” will be released early on iTunes US on March 5th. It will be a compilation of her previous two EP, which have been sold out and unavailable for a while, and one new recording.

The release date in Japan will be scheduled on April 16th and for other regions, the schedule is to be announced.
