Mayu Wakisaka Released a Full Album in South Korea, and Performs at COEX for Omatsuri Event!
Mayu Wakisaka, known for her feature in Sony’s mp3 player, WALKMAN, has released a special edition of her full album “Halfway to You” for her South Korean fans!
The album features a unique mix of Norah Jones-ish folk, jazz, and country tunes but with more pop sense and twist like Sia and Ingrid Michaelson.
One of the two bonus tracks is “Let It Go” from the Disney movie “Frozen”, and she recorded it as a duet with Korean American singer-songwriter, David Choi , who made a big success on his covers on YouTube. David’s husky but soothing voice goes fantastic with Mayu’s clear but deep voice. The other track is a mellow piano ballad “Burn”.
In promotion of her album and also to represent the friendship between Japan and korea, Mayu will be performing at COEX for an event called “Nikkan Koryu Omatsuri”.
Other performing acts are Juri Ueno, YANAKIKU, CROSS GENE and RYU. The festival features traditional dance, films and cos-play photo contest, starting at 10AM. Her estimated performance time is at 4PM.
