Yun*chi’s first overseas concert a great success, debut of collaboration song
“HYPER JAPAN London 2013”, an event to introduce people to Japanese pop culture, was held from July 26th to 28th in London, England, and attracted over 60,000 people over its three days. Yun*chi performed on the 27th and 28th in her first concert outside Japan and was a great success.
She also appeared at an event called “HARAJUKU KAWAii!! In LONDON 2013”, where she judged a fashion show of local amateur contestants wearing Japanese cosplay outfits. At her concert, she wore a bright red costume with a Japanese kimono motif and sang her previously released songs “Reverb*”, “Shake you*”, and “Tenshi no Yubikiri (The Promise of an Angel)”. She also performed “Waon* with IroKokoro Project”, the ending theme of the NHK WORLD show “J-MELO”, for the first time live on stage.
The song “Waon* with IroKokoro Project” is a collaboration with “IroKokoro Project”, a global community of girls who are interested in music. Yun*chi took the numerous “favorite Japanese words” submitted by members of the group from 43 different countries and put them into the song. At the concert, a video of the girls who contributed to this project singing the song was projected on the back screen, and the audience sang the Japanese lyrics together during the chorus.
After the show, a long line of people hoping for an autograph, a handshake, or a picture formed in the concert hall, attracting attention from the local media to Yun*chi. Her first overseas live ended in great success, with all her CDs selling out immediately and a flood of offers for her to perform at events.
