The first day of the final musical event at the National Olympic Stadium, “SAYONARA Kokuritsu Gyogijou FINAL WEEK JAPAN NIGHT,” entitled “Yell for Japan,” was held on May 28. We would like to bring you a report of Naoto Inti Raymi’s performance.

Naoto Inti Raymi took the stage directly following Funky Kato’s performance. The audience clapped along to the beat as he performed “Brave.”

“How is everyone? How is the arena? How are the stands? I can see all the way to the back! Hey, the person in the white t-shirt!” he said amiably, making the audience laugh. That kind of humorous performance is characteristic of Naoto’s live shows.

“I’ve been overcome with emotion since the first song. My first time at the Olympic Stadium was during the finals for the Emperor’s Trophy when I was in elementary school.” Beginning with that, Naoto told a story about his beloved soccer and the National Olympic Stadium. “Being able to stand here on this stage as a singer is an honor. I’m reflecting upon it,” he said, showing his joy. “Thank you, National Stadium, goodbye National Stadium. Until we meet again,” he said, becoming a little solemn before he performed the incredibly exciting number, “The World is ours!”

Naoto left the stage after making a peace sign at the audience who showed a sense of unity during his performance.
