Hitomi Yaida born July 28, 1978 in Toyonaka, Osaka, Japan is a Japanese J-pop/folk rock singer/songwriter and guitarist. She often goes by the nickname Yaiko. Her musical style is said to be similar to that of Shiina Ringo. Yaida is an established musical artist in Japan and has also had minor Club hits in the United Kingdom. She graduated from Kansai University with a degree in French language and literature.
“Heart rock” is the term that Hitomi Yaida’s fans use for her music and it suits her pop music perfectly. Internationally popular, Hitomi’s music crosses a variety of genres – but in the end, she creates her own sound, distinguished by her unique voice that can perform extremely high and sharp tones.
