Real name, Reiko Minami (南 玲子). Scouted by Hiroshi Mizuhara when making an appearance in a nightclub, lyrics brought out by the lyricist You Aku (阿久悠), debutd in 1970 with the song “Zangeno Neuchimo Nai (ざんげの値打ちもない)”. She has been constantly performing ever since.
Releasing her 25th anniversary song in 1995, single “Aishitaino (愛したいの)”, the song became a closing song for a television program “Tokusen Burari Tabi (特選ぶらり旅)” broadcasted on Tokyo Television. In May 2006, she released a single “Onna Tomodachi (女友達)”, which had it’s coupling song “rf Blue”, chosen from the general public.
