Minato (Vo. & Gt.) advanced to university in 2004 with the hopes to perform in a band. She quickly became good friends with Miki Tanaka (Vo. & B.), and met Kosuke Kageyama (Dr. & Cho.) who had very similar musical taste.
In June 2008, released the self-produced EP “Calorium”. In August 2008, won the “Base Girl” competition held at Shibuya O-WEST. They have diligently performed on stage, and in June 2010, won an award for the “RO69JACK2010” contest held by the music magazine ROCKIN’ ON. They changed their band name to BARBARS on January 1st, 2011, because their previous band name had already been taken as a registered trademark by another band. On March 9th, 2011, released their debut album “OPEN” from King Records. On August 8th, 2012, released the maxi single “Zankyou Sub Story”.
