BABYMETAL, No.5 on U.S. Billboard’s year-end “World Albums/Artist” chart

BABYMETAL took the No.5 spot on U.S. Billboard’s year-end “World Albums/Artist” chart. The group’s first album, “BABYMETAL”, debuted in February at No. 7. The album was only distributed digitally overseas, and it still ranked in as the best selling Japanese album.

BABYMETAL stunned the world in 2014 when their debut album, “BABYMETAL”, took No.1 on iTunes in the U.S., England, and Germany.

They went on a world tour that hit France, Germany, England, and the United States over the summer. They also played huge rock festivals such as in England and in Canada. They then opened up for Lady Gaga for five dates in the United States and garnered fans ranging from heavy metal to pop. In September, BABYMETAL ranked No.1 on the U.S. Billboard “WORLD ALBUMS CHART”. In November, they played add-on solo shows in New York and London. The London show sold out to a crowd of 5,000 fans.
