Zopp aspired to become a lyricist after translating lyrics for overseas artists while studying in the United States. In 2005, “SEISHUN Amigo”, a song he wrote the lyrics to, won the 21st Gold Disc Award’s song of the year award.
Zopp wrote lyrics to “SEISHUN Amigo” by Shuji TO Akira, “Miso Soup” by DECOMAS, “DAITE Senorita” by Tomohisa Yamashita, “JOKYU –Carpe Diem-“ by Momoiro Clover Z, “Bo Peep Bo Peep” by T-ARA, and many more. He says that story, impact, ease of singing, and personality are important when writing lyrics.
Zopp is involved in a wide range of activities besides with writing lyrics such as training lyricists (as a Zopp lyric club lecturer), KOTOBA Writer (word writer), and making TV appearances. In November 2013, he made his debut as a novelist with “1+1=Namida”.
