Misako Sakazume
In 2005, 19 year-old Misako submitted a one song among thousands of other applicants for consideration as the theme song for a major Japanese television drama. Misako’s song was selected and performed by Japanese music sensation Crystal Kay. As a result, Misako’s single “Koini ochitara” hit #2 on the Oricon chart. Misako’s outstanding talent soon caught the attention of numerous music directors and label executives and her songs were soon being recorded by Japan’s most recognized pop musicians: “Bye My Friends” by K, “Long Time No See” by BoA, and “Namida ga afuretemo Soul Dishes” in February 2007. The album’s leading track, “Kamatte,” reached #2 on the FM on-air indies chart and made Misako Sakazume a household name in Japan.
Misako went on to debut “Koi no tanjyoubi” with major record label Rhythm Zome in May 2008. Leading track “Koi no tanjyoubi” marked the highest ranking ever for a female artist in Japan, reaching power play with 36 FM radio stations. Electro-Voice is proud to welcome Misako to their family of endorsers.
