ROMA Tanaka

2011/01/1

Tanaka Roma is a bilingual (in English and Japanese) singer and dancer, who was born and raised in San Francisco. In 2006, he debuted under King Records with the single One / No Change No End. He is known for collaborating with Dohzi-T on his single Better Days which also features Kato Miliyah.
His father is a Saxophone player, and his mother is a vocalist, and thus he was brought up listening to classical music from his parents. However, when he went to high school, he developed an interest in R&B and hip-hop. He later joined a professional dance team called “Culture Shock”, who performed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York. Tanaka even auditioned for American Idol, and made it into the semi-finals.
In 2006, he made his debut under King Records with the single One / No Change No End in June. Both songs were written and composed by himself. He continued to release four more singles, one full album and one mini album with them, until Tanaka and his label went seperate ways in 2008.
He is now currently living in Japan permanently, acting in various musicals (most recently, Rent) and recording music as an independent artist. He released his first independent single, “Addicted,” early 2009. It is currently available on iTunes and Amazon.com for digital download.
