On the club jazz scene, quasimode has introduced itself as one of the best band all over the world.
In 2006, the first album “oneself-LIKENESS” was released. It acquired 1st place across the board with the club chart of the foreign-affiliated CD shops in Japan.
In 2007, the second album, “The Land of Freedom”, was released and it was ranked at the 4th place for 2007 BEST JAZZ RECORDS chosen by the J-WAVE’S radio program hosted by Gilles Peterson.
The album became worldwide sensation; it was ranked at the top of club as well as Jazz charts of not only CD shops but also iTunes Store in Japan and SONAR KOLLEKTIV, Germany label led by JAZZANOVA, licensed the album and released it worldwide.
A live album, “Straight to the Land of Freedom”, which recorded the live featuring the second album at LIQUIDROOM was released in March of 2008, becoming a smash hit.
quasimode released their much-expected third album, “SOUNDS OF PEACE”, on October 2008 which was ranked at the 2nd place on the TOWER RECORDS Jazz chart for the year and chosen as the best Jazz album by iTunes.
quasimode as a Japanese representative will release a cover album, “mode of blue”, from BLUE NOTE label on January 2009, which is an anniversary cover album for its 70th anniversary.
“mode of blue” was ranked at the 1st place on the AMAZON, HMV, TOWER RECORDS and iTunes Jazz chart.
On April, “GOLDEN WORKS” that collects a lot of remix works that quasimode has done up to now was announced.
They accomplish appearance to a lot of big events such “North Sea Jazz Festival” (one of the world three major jazz festival), “Tokyo Jazz” (Big Jazz festival in Japan), and “Rising Sun Rock Festival” etc. They exchange BLUE NOTE with the definitive agreement and on December 2009 will release 4th original album “daybreak”. They produce music by a marvelous production pace and are a greatly noteworthy jazz band from which activity is expected more and more in the future.
