T-BOLAN T-BOLAN is comprised of Arashi Moritomo (vocals), Takashi Gomi (guitar), Hirofumi Ueno (bass), and Kazuyoshi Aoki (drums). They debuted with their single, “KANASHIMI GA ITAIYO” in July 1991 and have gone on to write some of the most popular hit songs of the 1990s, such as “HANASHITAKUNAI”, “Bye For Now”, and “Maria”. Audiences fell in love with Moritomo’s sexy singing voice and tough love songs. The bands’ 1990s single and album sales totaled to 17,000,000 units.
T-BOLAN disbanded in December 1999 due to issues with Moritomo’s throat. However in 2012, the original members reunited again after 13 years.
The band name comes from the “T” from T.Rex and “BOLAN” from T-Rex vocalist, Marc Bolan.
