Amy Lee, lead singer of GRAMMY-winning group Evanescence, to join WAGAKKIBAND on stage at their Premium Symphonic Night Vol. 2 show at the Osaka-Jo Hall

WAGAKKIBAND will perform a one-night only special show titled the “Premium Symphonic Night Vol.2” on Sunday, February 16th at the Osaka-Jo Hall. Not only will the show see WAGAKKIBAND performing with a full live orchestra, but it will also feature a special guest appearance by Amy Lee, lead singer of the two-time GRAMMY Award- winning rock band, Evanescence.

WAGAKKIBAND is an iconic rock band from Japan fusing Japanese traditional instruments with rock, and Evanescence is a two-time GRAMMY Award-winning band whose debut album Fallen alone has sold 17 million copies worldwide. The two bands first met in 2018 when WAGAKKIBANDʼs Yuko Suzuhana (lead singer) and Machiya (guitar) went to see Evanescence perform in Los Angeles during their acclaimed Synthesis Tour, which also featured an orchestra, and have stayed in touch ever since. After seeing a video of WAGAKKIBANDʼs live concert, Amy Lee was impressed and the artists began discussing the prospect of working together. It took them two years, but the much-anticipated collaboration is finally about to happen. With the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games only months away with all eyes on Tokyo, this truly global musical collaboration will help set the stage for the upcoming worldʼs biggest sporting event.

Amy Lee is expected to join the group on stage as a special guest, and the two parties are currently working on a new song together to perform at the show. This delightfully unique collaboration by two of the leading female rock vocalists from the US and Japan will no doubt be the highlight of the premium night for all those who are lucky to be there.

Osaka-Jo Hall on Sunday, February 16 will become a historical moment in the Japanese music scene – surely a show you cannot miss.
―― Amy Lee of Evanescence

It all started when Ms. Amy Lee saw a concert video of WAGAKKIBAND performing with an orchestra. She invited us to see her band Evanescence in Los Angeles and we’ve talked about doing something interesting together since then. Finally, that moment has come as we’ll be performing together for the first time! Amy and I share a lot in common, not just because we’re singers, but because we’re also pianists. I hope everyone enjoys this special, one night only, collaboration event between WAGAKKIBAND and Ms. Lee.
