Ryu Miho


Born in Los Angeles and grew up in Kamakura. Due to the influences of her father who liked jazz and her mother who liked R&B, she was exposed to a variety of music from a young age. At the age of 7, She was awestruck by Helen Merrill and went down the path of jazz for a while, but was short-lived. Began playing the piano at the age of 10 and started sessions. She entered a Christian junior high school where she sang hymns everyday, and joined the choir. Joined a band in high school and played the keyboards and guitar. She began composing and writing lyrics at this time. By happenstance, she heard a tune by Helen Merrill again and became hooked on jazz again. She began performing piano at live houses, where she was discovered by a music producer. In March 2009, released the album “woman with LOVE”. The album featured, standard jazz tunes along with chanson, and pop songs with jazz arrangements. Her floaty whisper-voice style vocals featured on these tracks caught the attention of many listeners.
Many women have been mesmerized by her unique, kind voice.
On February 22nd, 2012, made her major debut with “…and you will find me” from King Records.
