From a very young age, Sawada listened to songs by Teresa Teng. After graduating from high school, she worked at a company until in 1996 she became champion of “NHK Nodo Jiman (a public audition TV program)” held in Kurobe city. In 1997, she moved to Tokyo in order to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional singer. In 1999, she won Grand Prix at the “Daiikkai Shinjinn Kashu Auditions” sponsored by Japan Composer’s Association and debuted on June 23, 2004 as Miki Sawada with the single “Kazeno Kotozute”.
In April of 2006, she was appointed Tulip ambassador by Nyuzen town. In order to supporter her home town of Nyuzen, she released “Ituka Akaichurippu” on October 4, 2006.
Her favorite saying is “until you achieve your dream”.
