175R is Japanese rock band from Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, formed in 1998.
In 2001, they released 1st Album and single, and their name became very popular in the independent music scene in Japan.
On their major debut single “HAPPY LIFE” and the second single “SORA NI UTAEBA”in 2003, both singles got 1st sales ranking on Oricon chart, and their name got spread out throughout Japan.
Just after their major debut, 175R played the free live gig at Yoyogi park in Tokyo, and there were over 25,000 fans appeared to see their performance.
In the same year they were chosen as the support band for SUM41’s Japan Tour.
On new year’s eve in 2003, they played on NHK new year music festival “Kouhaku utagassen”, Red and White music festival.
In 2004, they played at Nihon-budoukan, where Shogo has always dreamed to play.
In 2007, they released their Best album “Thank you for the music” for their10 years debut anniversary.
In 2008, they played at all 48 Japanese prefectures, and they also played for the first time in Korea.
In 2010, after they released their album ‘JAPON’, they decided to suspend their band activities for an indefinite period, to improve each members skills.
In total, they released 7 albums, 16 singles, and 5 DVDs. 175R played at many rock festivals and events. They are high ranking rock band in the public in Japan.
