Hiromi Uehara’s 10 Consecutive Blue Note Shows Just Started! First Achievement as a Japanese Artist!

Hiromi Uehara, a highly acclaimed pianist, just opened her 10 consecutive shows at Blue Note New York on June 25th, which is to be the first and one of the biggest achievement for a Japanese artist.

She made her first appearance at Blue Note, a legendary Jazz venue in 2005. Since then she has been doing annual five-day shows but for this 10th anniversary she will hold 10-day shows.

The show promoted her latest album “ALIVE”, which came out on May 21th in Japan and this month in US. The album ranked 3rd in Billboard Jazz chart, and the venue was filled with her fans, proving her popularity as well as her rising sales figures. She performed with the recording members, including Anthony Jackson (Bass) and Simon Phillips (Drums).

After the first night of the 10th anniversary year at Blue Note, Uehara said, “Before I knew it, 10 years had passed. All I do is just to focus on the performances I’ve got.” showing her enthusiasm for the rest of her shows. Her solo shows at Blue Note will go on till June 29th (Sun) and then she will head to Europe Tour. She will return to he motherland, Japan, for “Tokyo Jazz” in September and “Alive” Japan Tour starting late November.
