Hatsune Miku’s Opera “THE END” Lands In Paris, Appraised by Mills and Gaultier
An opera “THE END” was shown at Théâtre du Châtelet, France on November 12th (Local Time). “THE END” is an opera starring Hatsune Miku, music by Keiichiro Shibuya, and script and stage direction by Toshiki Okada, a stage direction of Chelfitsch and Shibuya. This performance was held at Bunkamura Orchard Hall of Tokyo in May, and in Paris they held one stage on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of November, a total of 3 stages. The local people`s interest on the opera “THE END” with no singer nor orchestra was high, and was reported by the local media such as “Libération” and “Le Monde” even before the performance was held. On the day of the performance, techno musician Jeff Mills, currently living in Paris came, commenting, “It was very exciting. Every single sequence was marvelous”. Fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who also saw the performance commented, “The concept itself is revolutionary and wonderful. Bravo Japan, for introducing a new genre of star!”
