INORAN
INORAN is a Japanese guitarist, singer-‐songwriter and a producer. He is best known as a co-‐founder and guitarist of the world-‐wide known rock band LUNA SEA formed in 1989. LUNA SEA went on to become hugely successful, having sold more than 10 million certified units in Japan, and are considered one of the most influential bands in Japanese rock movement.
INORAN started his solo career in 1997 when the members of Luna Sea took a break to work on other projects. INORAN then in 2000 formed Fake? a year later. Then in 2005 when leaving Fake?, he founded Tourbillion with LUNA SEA singer Ryuichi Kawamura.
In the summer of 2006, he began his solo career again and, in 2007 , performed many live concerts.
On December 24, 2007, INORAN joined up with the members of LUNA SEA to play a reunion one-‐night concert in front of 50,000 audience at Tokyo Dome. They again performed up another show at the” hide memorial summit “ held at a football stadium having a capacity like more than 50,000 on May 4, 2008.
In May 2010, INORAN created the song with another musician “Love For…” for the victims of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake. In August, he appeared with the other members of LUNA SEA at a press conference in Hong Kong, where they officially announced their reunion and their 20th Anniversary World Tour” Reboot-‐to the New Moon”.
In April 2011 the song “Love For…” for the Haiti earthquake, was offered for download. This time with the proceeds donated to aid reconstruction of the area damaged by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
In 2012, he teamed up with Taka Hirose from FEEDER (UK) to form the band Muddy Apes. Their debut album ” Crush It” was released exclusively in Japan.
After the debut album, he released the solo album “Dive youth, Sonik dive “ June 27, 2012 .
It was supported with a nationwide Japanese tour that also celebrated his 15th anniversary as a solo artist. On August 31 in Stockholm, he kicked off his first European tour, which took him to Vienna, Cologne, Hamburg, Venice, Milan and ended September 16 in Paris.
In 2012 to 2013, LUNA SEA re-‐started and had a long-‐awaited tour including some Asian countries such as Taiwan, China, Thailand and Singapore.All the domestic shows were sold out instantly. (a capacity of each venue has around 10,000)
INORAN never stop his step and continuously enjoy the musical activity.
2013 July 28, Muddy Apes will perform at Fuji Rock Festival following their second album and INORAN performed also at Rock in Japan Festival in August as solo. At the same time, LUNA SEA released a few singles and an original full album “A WILL”, which was released after 13 years and 5 months.
In 2014, a mini-‐album ”Somewhere” was released on March 19 and had a short tour. Now, he is getting ready for LUNA SEA’s long nation-‐wide tour stating in May2014 and finishing on March 2015.
In addition to this profile, INORAN singed Fender and is the first Japanese guitarist to sign to. INORAN’s signature JAZZMASTER models are limitedly made for sale in Japan.
