DJ Kazu lights up the crowd at Indonesia’s largest anime festival

DJ Kazu performed at “Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2014”, Indonesia’s largest anime festival, on August 16 and 17.

“Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2014”, which was started in Singapore in 2008, was held in Jakarta, Indonesia this year. It has been the largest Japanese pop-culture event in Southeast Asia since 2008. In 2012, the event was also held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in Jakarta, Indonesia. This year was the third time the event was held in Indonesia. It was held from August 15 to 17 and brought in 55000 people, which was 2000 more than last year.

The venue was packed with anime, merchandise, and food booths. It was congested to the point where people could not move. Concerts were held in the main hall on the 16th and 17th. DJ Kazu played there on both days. He cranked out anime songs from a DJ booth stacked with large SONY speakers. The local anime fans were just as passionate as Japanese anime fans and would cheer every time DJ Kazu switched up songs. Some locals even sang along to the lyrics.
