J-POP LOVERS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF INAUGURAL “GENKI! J-POP NIGHT” IN SINGAPORE

MODE ENTERTAINMENT, in collaboration with The Foundation for Promotion of Music Industry and Culture (PROMIC) and Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), announces the unveiling of the Inaugural “GENKI! J-Pop Night”, set to happen on the 13th of July, 2014.

An Exclusive Concert for J-Pop lovers in Singapore, the event aims to bring the best rising stars of J-Pop to music enthusiasts.

“GENKI!”, which means “Healthy!”, “Feeling Fine!” , or “Alive!” in Japanese, is an apt theme to the event, re-activating the J-Pop wave in Singapore and other parts of Asia.

A similar event, titled “J-Music Lab”, was met with great success and enthusiasm from J-Pop fans in Indonesia last year.

Mr. Kaz Michijima, Director of PROMIC, describes the event, “PROMIC has always wanted to showcase talented Japanese artists in Singapore. We are very excited to bring 4 unique artistes to J-Pop lovers in Singapore. We are happy and privileged to work with our partner, Mode Entertainment, which has passion for Japanese music. They made it happen”.

Mr James Kang, Director of Mode Entertainment, says, “The Genki! J-Pop Night and the peripheral activities were organized to have the participation of anyone who enjoys J-POP. We understand that there is a dearth of J-Pop events for Japanese music fans in Singapore in recent years. We want to create events for fans in Singapore to experience J-Pop with their peer J-Pop fans and have a good time.”

The exciting cast for “GENKI” J-Pop Night” is varied and multi-faceted, showcasing different dimensions to the current J-Pop trend.

Contemporary Pop Duo moumoon
Guitar-Wielding Rock Duo TarO&JirO
Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter Mayu Wakisaka

The 4 J-Pop Artistes will also do a meet and greet with the public on 12th July at Chinatown Point Outdoors, providing a taster to the full show that will happen on 13th July.

There will be a by-invite-only session for media, scheduled for 11th July, which will be attended by all 4 performing acts. The artistes will take questions from the media during the session.
