TarO & JirO Appears As Guest On PROMIC.TV “J-POP-NEWS’” Public Live Recording

The YouTube program, PROMIC.TV “J-POP NEWS”, which started as a means of supporting Japanese artists who seek success internationally, on June 18, 2013, began a new public live-concert recording project. As the very first artist to be featured on the project, TarO & JirO were called upon to make their appearance.

Foreign study-abroad students currently residing in Japan were invited to the live concert. Using various SNS including Facebook and Twitter, they will be able to share their experience of the event to the world. For that purpose, the attendants are allowed to take pictures and videos using their smartphones. After the live concert, PROMIC.TV “J-POP NEWS’” VJ Joan conducted an interview session on stage, which was followed by a section in which the students got a chance to talk with TarO & JirO.

Footage of the live concert will be uploaded over two weeks: on March 4 and March 11. They will remain online as an archive after that.

PROMIC.TV “J-POP NEWS” plans to hold public live-concert recordings once every two to three months with the aim to support Japanese artists go international. Furthermore, they will tag with Recording Industry Association of Japan to provide a chance for Japanese artists to make their showcases overseas. The Japan Music Showcase at held in Brighton England in May and “J-MUSIC WEEKEND” held in Singapore in July are examples of such occasions. They are also actively supporting companies participating in The 11th Tokyo International Music Market, which will be held between October 21 and 23, 2014. PROMIC will serve as secretariat for the event.
