You Kikkawa appears at the JAPAN EXPO CENTRE in France, receives a big ovation, and mingles with local fans

On October 27 and 28, You Kikkawa performed in a showcase at the JAPAN EXPO CENTRE.

After meeting with local newspapers, radio, and the Web, Kikkawa journeyed out among the fans in the assembly hall to pass out flyers for her concert. She mingled with fans, occasionally speaking to them in elementary French, and posing for souvenir photos.

Eventually, it was time for the show to start. More than 500 fans gathered in the hall, offering an enthusiastic ovation as she was announced, and she bound onto the stage to the introduction of her song, “Daarin to Madonna” (“Darling and Madonna”). Kikkawa took the mic at one point, shouting, “C’est parti!” (“Here we go!”) trying her best to recall her French. She performed eight songs in all, but it was her song, “Sayonara Namida” (“Good-bye Tears”) during which truly tearful faces could be found in the crowd of her French fans, as if they had been waiting for that moment for a long time.
