2012/11/19

November 14, 2012 – Japanese punk band CANTOY will make their American live performance debut at Japanese anime and culture event Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh, PA.

Produced by ex-ketchup mania leader/guitarist Dai on his Splatter Records label, the young band has become well-known in Tokyo’s indie scene for their hardcore sound, pixie-cute vocals, and high-energy stage shows.

CANTOY will perform a live concert, fan Q&A, and autograph sessions during the four-day event, April 4-7, 2013, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, appearing with previously-announced Japanese hard rock band DAZZLE VISION.

Event and registration information can be found at http://www.tekkoshocon.com.

CANTOY appears at Tekkoshocon by arrangement with RESONANCE Media and Splatter Records.

CANTOY was formed in Tokyo, 2004. Lead singer Miri-pow, a model for the popular Harajuku fashion magazine ZIPPER, creates a fusion of cute vocals and a fiendish digital hardcore sound. CANTOY’s first mini-album “MissMatch!?” was released in July 2010 through ex-ketchup mania guitarist Dai’s record label Splatter Records. On their album release tour, CANTOY played 35 dates across Japan, with the tour final being played amidst stage diving and mosh pits at the Shibuya Cyclone live house.

In July 2012, CANTOY released their second album “KILL”. As they continue to perform across Japan and gain fans overseas, CANTOY is a rising star in the Japanese hardcore punk/pop music scene.
