Yo Hitoto


Yo Hitoto is from Tokyo. She was born to a Tiwanese father and Japanese mother spending most of her childhood in Taipei. She graduated from Keio Gijuku University. While in university she performed on the street as a member of A-cappella group.
In 2002, she made her debut with the single “Morai Naki” which won numerous awards including new artist Japan Record Award and Japan Yusen Award. Also she performed at NHK’s Kohaku Utagassen for the first time.
Her fifth single “Hanamizuki” became a big hit and so did her best album BESTYO.
In 2009, she had her fist Nippon Budokan show.
In 2004, She starred in “Coffee Jikou” and in 2008 “Hako no Naka no Onna” , playing the main role in both. Also, she published her poetry book in 2013, expanding her career other than singing.
